Ryan Kim represents corporation and individuals in New York, New Jersey and Illinois in all aspects of labor and employment matters. He represents clients in wage and hour matters and investigations, unfair labor practice charges and hearings, litigation, mediation, and arbitration.

He navigates clients through all aspects of labor and employment law, with the goal of zealously representing clients while promoting respectful and dignified treatment of all individuals in the workplace. Ryan looks to develop a deep understanding of his clients’ businesses to help anticipate and prevent workplace disputes before they arise.

He handles to prepare and review employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, non-compete agreements, severance letters, offers of employment, arbitration agreements and releases. He also prepares employee handbooks, and employee policies.

The Firm counsels clients in all aspects of employment related decisions, including hiring, termination, wages, disciplinary actions, layoffs, transfers, promotions/demotions, breaks, leaves, vacations, attendance, use of computers, privacy rights of employees, performance appraisals, records keeping requirements mandated by state and federal governments, issues related to workers’ compensation coverage.

Professional Activities
Ryan began his career at Kim & Chang, the premier Law Firm in Korea. For 18 years Ryan handled complex litigation, with an emphasis on employment law and civil rights litigation. He also handled restrictive covenants and contract litigation. In this role, he was known for his complex and novel legal arguments, many of which have been noted by opposing attorneys and judges alike. He has successfully handled several cases of first impression. Ryan utilizes his refined knowledge of civil rights and employment law to successfully represent clients in cases involving policies and procedures related to workforce diversity; contract compliance; relevant federal and New York, New Jersey and Illinois State laws; and equal employment opportunity law.
